Motogp Paddock Champions Choose Honda’s Zoomer Scooter

Honda’s Zoomer scooter is the preference of champions in the MotoGP field. With its not-luxury look and ultra-reliability, MotoGP paddock champions find it as the only way to get around.

You will see the ultra-cool Zoomer all around the MotoGP field. Its exposed as well as minimal looks may seem very traditional but the scooter is far from it, suiting in well with the hi-tech world of MotoGP. On its middle part is an environmentally-friendly fuel-injected, liquid-cooled 50cc four-stroke motor which pumps out around 4bhp. Drum brakes front and rear drag the lightweight 84-kilo machine smartly, while the chunky balloon tires yield sure-footed handling.

In order to get around the busy paddock in the 18-round World Championship, Repsol Honda’s Nicky Hayden uses his 50cc Zoomer. Fully personalized, his machine comes in a cool, military camouflage green, and is made brilliant with Nicky Hayden stickers and Repsol Honda logos. Nicky, with so many demands on his time, needs a scoot that will always be ready to go and the Zoomer fully satisfies that need. He commented referring to the scooter that one can just get on it and go. He added that it never lets him down because it is so cool and it is perfect for the field.

Twenty-nine year old Shinya Nakano of Konica Minolta Honda also uses a Zoomer. The 1998 All Japan 250cc champ and 2000, 250cc World Championship runner-up thinks that it is the best in the paddocks. The Japanese star said that her Zoomer is fantastic because it is perfect for going from A to B around the paddock plus it looks so good. Unfortunately, the racer will be signing his Zoomer and giving it away in a competition.

But the Zoomer is not just for the race paddock. Bertie Simmonds, a motorcycle journalist said that he love the stripped-down looks of the thing and the fact that there are so many accessories one can really personalize the scooter. He uses his machine for running around the village where he lives. He continued that it is also perfect for roaming around and assured that it is fuss-free and 100 percent reliable that nothing can beat it.

The Honda Zoomer costs just £2007 on-the-road.

About Honda

Aside from making cars and their part like a Honda door handle, the Japanese company is also into ATVs, engines, aircrafts, generators, lawn and garden, motorcycles, outboard motors, personal water craft, water pumps, scooters, and snow blowers.

Kawasaki Motorcycle Parts for the MotoGP Seasons

Kawasaki is a world renown motors corporation based in Amsterdam, Netherlands that contributes to the motor sports through kawasaki motorcycle parts, ATVs and parts, RUVs, Jet-Skis, utility vehicles and more. They area always launching new products and have expanded quite a bit since the year 2000. Kawasaki is also the name of a Japanese city one that houses many leagues and facilities that focus on motor sports. But that’s in a different article.

This article is all about the Kawasaki Motor Racing alliance which is a European subsidiary of Kawasaki Heavy Industries located in the Netherlands. This corporation handles all racing activities of the MotoGP team and any other motorcycle racing event that Kawasaki wants to partake in the future. This subsidiary was set up back in 2007 when the Hapenes manufacturers wanted a split from production and racing. After this, Kawasaki returned to the class of motorcuycle racing and subsequently became a complete “in house” factory team.

The Kawasaki Racing team was not formed until 2003. It was then that they feceloped their new 990cc ZX-RR bike and raced it in the 2002 MotoGP season. In 2004 this team managed two official riders, Alex Hofmann and Shinya Nakano. Because of Nakano’s third place victory, team Kawasaki gained it’s first podium finish in the MotoGP.

In the 2007 season, the team used their new 800cc Ninja ZX-RR. Their team riders were Oliver Jacque and Randy de Puniet. Unfortunately, due to several crashes during practice and the last race, Oliver Jacque was injured and doomed for competition. He then retired and was replaced by Australia’s own Anthony West. Randy de Puniet finished managed to grap the second place slot with a Japanese Grand Prix.

In 2008, the team decided to pull out of the MotoGP competition due to the global financial crisis. After negations with DORNA in 2009, the team scaled their team down to the Hayate Racing team which was renamed due to limited Kawasaki involvement. They only provided one bike and one rider. Miraculously, the team finished 5th and 6th and it happened to be the best result on the podium since 2007.

MotoGP – Sayonara Tomizawa, rest in peace

The world of motor sports mourns the 19-year-old Japanese rider who lost his life product of a tragic accident in San Marino.

For the second weekend in a row the motor racing tracks have been tainted with pain and grief, because of two unfortunate happenings that have brought back the focus of attention to the safety regulations.  On August 29th, the 13-year-old rider Peter Lenz lost his life at the Indianapolis Grand Prix, and without even having time to digest this shocking event, one week later in San Marino, Shoya Tomizawa from team Technomag-CIP died after a tragic accident.

To track down the last casualty in a MotoGP circuit, we have to go back to 2003, when Tomizawa’s fellow countryman, Daijiro Kato, died in Sukana’s Grand Prix, who by those forces of fate happened to be his hometown.  The racing number 74 tattooed on Tomizawa’s left shoulder was no mistake, but a tribute to honor the memory of Kato. Ever since, this racing track has not been back on the circuit, since the entire fault was blamed on it.

This year had started pretty good for Tomizawa, winning his first Moto2 race ever, at Losail International Circuit in Doha, Qatar.  His performance in comparison to last year’s had suffered an impressive progression, as he managed to improve from the 17th position that he ended 2009 with, to the 7th place that he was occupying before the fatal accident where he fall from his motorbike, and was immediately impacted by Scott Redding and Alex de Angelis.

At such high speeds, around 240kph, not only the chances to survive a crash are significantly decreased, but the chances to maneuver for those riders coming so closed together are also reduced to the minimum. The outcome of an accident of this magnitude lies upon the miracle that the helmet, knee-blocks, and back protectors can do. The tarmac and grass areas may contribute to prevent accidents, but none of them can guarantee that the race track is exempt of accidents.

“Without fear they ride with too much confidence, and things like this can happen”

This accident should serve as a reminder for the riders that no matter how many improvements are done to ensure their safety, their occupation is still a very dangerous one, and more than losing a race, they could lose their lives. Former MotoGP champion Casey Stoner referred to this issue, and feels that “riders become too confident and without fear they ride with too much confidence, and things like this can happen”.

For rider Alex Debon, the MotoGP race should have been suspended that day, since the organizers knew about the delicate health condition of Tomizawa. He feels that the interests of the organizers are always placed above “the life of a person”.  The MotoGP riders evidenced how affected they were with this sad event, as no celebrations were seen in the podium.

MotoGP’s security delegate Franco Uncini thinks that at this time the technology with which they count makes it “very difficult to solve this problem”. He also said that they are working on this issue in order to decrease the damage in the near future, although they don’t have a solution as of right now.

A Short History of MotoGP

The MotoGP was not always called the MotoGP, it was once known as the World Championship of Motorcycle Racing and its inaugural race was held in 1949. The first motorbike appeared in Germany around 1894 and the first motorcycle race was held in France not long after that. The United Kingdom first held the now famous Tourist Trophy races on the Isle of Man in 1906. The Isle of Man TT races are a huge attraction for both competitors and spectators alike and the modern rules were set by the FIM for the 1949 races. In 1938 the FIM organised a European Championship, however the war interrupted progress and it was 1949 before the first World Championship was held which consisted of four classes, the 500cc, 350cc, 250cc and the 125cc. At this first Grand Prix event, the British riders Leslie Graham won the 500cc class and Freddie Firth won the 350cc class. The Italian riders Bruno Ruffo won the 250cc class and Nello Pagani won the 125cc event.

As the sport developed, the motorcycle manufacturers were all trying to produce bikes for riders to win with. The Italians did particularly well during the 1950s and were dominant in the 500cc class from late in the 1950s until the early 1970s. Their supremacy was ended when the Japanese motorcycle industry developed further after manufacturing motorcycles that were consistantly winning the lower cc classes. A number of manufacturers dropped out at the end of the 1960s due to the escalating costs associated with Grand Prix racing and as a result the FIM established rules regarding the number of cylinders per engine depending upon the size of the engine. In 2002 the World Championship of Motorcycle Racing was renamed the MotoGP and there was an overhaul of the rules. The 500cc class was ended and the new 990cc 4-stroke class was introduced as the premier event. At the commencement of the 2007 season, rules were once again rewritten this time regarding the tyres and as a result the engine size was reduced from 990cc to 800cc. In 2009 tyre manufacturer Bridgestone were the named suppliers for the MotoGP 800cc class.

Each decade has its heroes who are fondly remembered by aficionados, however the Italian rider Giacomo Agostini is the most prolific, winning the most World titles, 15 in all and 7 of which he won in a row from 1966 – 1972. There have been so many gifted motorcyclists over the years and more recently another gifted Italian, Valentino Rossi has become THE name associated with MotoGP. Rossi is also noteworthy in that he won the very last 500cc race in 2001 and then went on to win the new class of 990cc in 2002. He is thought of as one of the all time greats now. He is still a young man with many more years of racing ahead of him, who knows what further achievements he can fulfil.

The MotoGP is a very exciting sport which is constantly evolving. It has a glorious and noble history and an exciting future with much to look forward to.

“Are you going to watch 2010 red bull usa motogp live online at watchmotogponline.com on July 23-25?”
“I’m expecting to. Why do you ask?”
“Oh, you know, just making conversation.”
“A conversation about MotoGP or just a general sort?”
“About MotoGP. I’m finding myself getting interested in the sport of late.”
“Well then, you ought to watch 2010 red bull usa motogp live online with me. MotoGP is, without a shadow of a doubt, the most exciting form of racing extant.”
“Oh, I say, that is a bold statement to make.”
“If you watch 2010 red bull usa motogp live online with me you will see that, if anything, I have understated things. I mean, think about it. 800 cc engines, mounted on two wheels, capable of speeds approaching 200 kilometers per hour, it doesn’t get much better than that.”
“I must say, that does sound like it would be a lot of fun. Tell me, is that it? 800 cc motorcycles? All the motorcycles are equipped with those engines and they race to see which one is set up the best and therefore wins?”
“Well, actually, no. MotoGP racing has three classes of racing.”
“Do tell.”
“When you watch 2010 red bull usa motogp live online at watchmotogponline.com, you will see that there are three distinct classes of races. There is the 125 cc class, and as of this year the next higher, [in the sense of engine displacement, not social standing], Moto2 with their 600 cc engines, and then the big boys, MotoGP, with their 800 cc four stroke track burners.”
“That’s quite a jump, from 125 cc to 600 cc.”
“Well actually what is now called Moto2 used to be the intermediate 250 cc class. FIM, the governing body for the sport changed from the two-stroke 250s to the four-stroke 600s and came into effect for this the 2010 racing season. Actually, when you watch 2010 red bull usa motogp live online you will be witnessing the last hurrah of the ‘Ok-but-this-is-the-last-year’ appearance of the 250 two-strokes. FIM is allowing them to race alongside the 600s for this one last season. As off the 2011 season Moto2 is strictly 600 cc four-stroke fire-breathers scorching their way around the track.”
“Sounds complicated.”
“Not to me. But then, I’m not an engine builder. They can use whatever numbers they want. All I know is that as a result of all their engineering shenanigans I get to watch 2010 red bull usa motogp live online, and some hard-core, live free or die, racing.”
“Goodness gracious me.”
“Okay, yes, that did sound a bit blood thirsty. When I, and one hopes, you, watch 2010 red bull usa motogp live online at watchmotogponline.com, we can be assured that safety is the number 1 consideration for everybody involved in the sport of MotoGP racing. I mean, you do see some spectacular spills, and tumbles, and such, but very, very, few serious injuries.”
“That’s good to know.”
“You know what? You should come and watch the race with me. While we are logged on we can register and get access to watch upcoming MOTO GP Races Online. Make a season of it, sort of thing.”
